Heart of the Matter

I've written some posts before about how crucial it is for people to find their purpose in life. I believe finding one's purpose is just about the most important thing any human can experience whilst on this planet. That's why most people especially westerners that are on a spiritual path search high and low for the answer that eludes most of us and that is 'what am I here for?, what am I supposed to be doing?'.

As I've said to people throughout the past few years who have asked me these questions, 'what does your heart say?','what's the one thing that you have always wanted to do?, or the one thing you love doing that opens your heart up and sing?', 'think of a way you can incorporate what you love doing into a job where you can support yourself.' Yes and of coarse I hear all the excuses under the sun why they cannot, then I say(sorry if it sounds cold, but when you have excuses why you cannot do something you love because of outside influences your playing victim) well stop complaining and get over it.

There is a small poem that inspired me a few years ago and I guess its time to maybe read it again for myself and to share with others, its called Risk.

RISK
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out for another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing, has nothing, is nothing. He or she may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he or she simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love.......live. Chained by their certitudes, they are a slave, they have forfeited freedom. Only a person who risks is truly free.

I've said for years now, you only get one shot at it this lifetime, one chance to be the most magnificent being you were born to be. Even if you believe in reincarnation and I do, the only thing you have is the now, this lifetime this moment, there has never been and will never be any other being in the universe quite like you, so stop wasting what little time you have on this earth and go out and BE the person you were born to BE.

Being Well

Here's some tips for your well-being, it is important for every person to take a holistic approach to life. Balancing all parts of our being is crucial if we want to become happy, peaceful, loving beings. Some people go down the path of spirituality thinking by meditating each and everyday
connecting to god/goddess, being conscious of what we say and do is the road to enlightenment. Well it certainly is, but I find these people are forgetting one of the most important parts of ourselves and that is our body, our temple, if we don't look after our body which is the vehicle we get around in on this earth we wont be much use to anyone.

So remember we are made up of many different parts, paying attention to some parts and neglecting others isn't a balanced approach. Caring for all parts of ourselves mind, body and soul, for me is better path to enlightenment. Don't forget the old saying healthily body, healthy mind.

Tips for enhancing your well-being

Gift From the Present

We hear all the time how important it is to stay in the present moment. Roland Rodriguez talks about how on his daily walks he mostly tires to stay in silence, in doing this it helps you stay in the present moment. There is a lovely little saying, "yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift that's why they call it the present."
The Urban Geographer - Walk softly and preferably without talking
"On those days when the outdoors feel like a tropical terrarium at 8 p.m., it's easy to skip the evening walk. But I take one every day, in the sliver of twilight just before the bats arrive. When the sun is low, and if a cooling breeze kicks up, everything looks and feels more than tolerable." zwire

Ba`kalema's Messages

Throughout the past couple of months I have posted some messages I received whilst I was on a small pilgrimage in the blue mountains which is located near Sydney, NSW, Australia. I was asked to post some photos of the area that I stayed at, so here they are I hope you enjoy. Believe me the photos I took don't do this place any justice.

Prayers and meditation are like wood
The more you add the higher
And brighter the flame burns within

When you realize love is the glue
The essence that holds everything
In the universe together
Then you're certainly on the
path to enlightenment

Cherish each and every moment that you abide
On this earth before you know it
It will be all gone in a blink of an eye
Transforming into something anew
Including you

Divine Solutions

I've come across this interesting article that talks about asking divine guidance for help when we have a problem. As they say there are no problems only solutions, humans love to get caught up in the drama of life, I think a lot of people feel alive when their in their drama's, they love to play the victim role. The victim role has so many facets to it, sometimes we don't even realize we're in it.

Most of the worlds population are playing out the victim role, for a lot of society its easier to play victim than to take charge of one's life, and to take responsibility for every thought, word and action that we do. The most important thing we can do to work out our problems(believe me most of them are just trivial one's at best) is to turn within, in other words seek guidance from our own source, our inner being which is a divine spark of God/Goddess. It is the all knowing, there is nothing your own God presence cant help you with, no problem to big or to hard.

Some of you might say "but when I sit and meditate and ask a question about a problem I don't hear or get anything to help me". Most of the time the reason for this is you haven't used this part of you before, so most of the time not all of the time you need to practice, strengthen this part of your being by doing it everyday even twice a day. Treat it like a muscle, your muscles wont tone up or become larger after going to the gym once a week, they certainly will if you go five to seven times a week. Like going to the gym discipline is needed for building this connection to your higher-self, and like the gym when you start seeing results it becomes part of your everyday life and its easy to set aside half and hour a day connecting to God/Goddess. So start today going within and stop going without and like Dr. Wayne Dyer's book boldly states 'There's a Spiritual Solution to every problem.'
Seek Divine Guidance
"Let me ask you a couple of questions. Do you ever get to a point in your life when you literally don't know what to do to solve a particularly pressing problem? Are you often confronted with extremely important decisions which must be made at your place of employment which impact not only your life and affairs, but others too?" thenassauguardian

Religion Losing Grip

Another war has started as most of us know, why? Because of religion? This is probably the main reason for most of the wars now and throughout history. Scott Bannon writes and article and feels very strongly about how religions of the world promote prejudices and build separations between each other's followers.

What can we do? All we can really do is promote peace, love and compassion in our own hearts that's a good start, if we all do this it will catch on eventually. Sending love and peace to these areas also is a great way to help change in the world.
My God is better than your God [The dangers of Organized Religions]
"In high school there were jocks, geeks, burn-outs, preppies, stoners, loners and players. In the real world there are Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Pagans and etc.
Social Cliques created and directed by--and to serve the interests of--people. Organized Religions have nothing to do with spirituality or an individual's relationship with the higher power they believe in

Spain goes Ape

Congratulations to the Spanish Government, very soon the Spanish parliament will pass a law implementing basic legal principles on granting legal rights to great apes. Meaning the four groups of great apes chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orang-utans will have protection freedom from torture, mistreatment and unnecessary death throughout the world.

Lets hope this leads to the whales and the rest of the animal kingdom. I noticed throughout the article they talk about how the apes feel and show emotions just like humans. For example anxiety, happiness as well as grief over the loss of loved ones and so on, Im sorry guys but when will humans realize that every single living creature be it animal, plant and some say mineral feels all the emotions that a human being will feel. I've talked to people who have worked in the abattoirs even they say that the cows and sheep can tell that they are going to die, they say you can smell the fear in the air. Take any new born away from just about any animal and watch them react.

Im sorry guys everyone to their own but I can not understand why humans have to kill so many animals to eat. Do we have to consume meat everyday? I don't think so in fact I know we don't. People should realize how much environmental damage we are doing just by eating so much meat. Like I've said to people who defend themselves against eating meat to me (really I don't care what anyone does, I've learned most of the time to accept people for where their at, for most of the time I too have done the exact thing this life time or maybe in another, this is why we cant judge another) that is its fine to eat animals if you go out and kill them yourself, as you guess nearly always the response is "oh yuck I couldn't kill a cow, a sheep or even a chicken" "why is that"? "It would be awful watching them die, hearing them scream". " So it's alright to get someone else to do the dirty work is it"? Please for the sake of our fellow creatures who also inhabit this planet think about how much meat you eat and do you really have to eat that much.

Further on in the article I also noticed that the Catholic church and Amnesty International have stated their opposition to the proposal, I understand why they have but as they write why cant we have rights for apes and all living creatures on this earth besides humans? We Are All One

Gorillas Chasing Bubbles: Spain Enters New Age of Enlightenment
"If all goes well, next Wednesday, 28 June, the Cortes Generales, the Spanish Parliament, will “liberate” four species of apes: chimpanzees, bonobos, gorillas and orang-utans. Michele Stumpe, an American attorney who is the president of Great Ape Project, International, is overjoyed."

2006 a Year of the New Age Films

I found this article showing how successful some of the new age films have been and how many new age films have come out and are coming out in 2006. Is this going to be a sign of things to come? I hope so, the more these type of films get out there the better.
Spiritual seekers are New Age films' audience
"The mainstream media rarely write about them, the critics don't much care for them and they're never advertised on TV. They appeal to the people "who shop at Whole Foods, go to wellness expos, do yoga and consider themselves religious liberals," according to movie marketing consultant Bobbi Cowan." charlotte
